What could be closer to the nature, than cyclical volatility, the returns to familiar themes in a new environment? What could be closer to the idea of art, than the creative processing of reality?

All of these features can be found in the works of Agnes - painter, photographer and designer of interiors. Her creations interact with each other inside her apartment, which she has organized on the outskirts of a big city. There you can see, how combinations of uniqueness with everyday life, nature with the city, photographic intuition with a feeling of form and colour, lead to the synthesis of tradition and originality.

Pożyczanie widoków: schody, lustro, obraz
Photos beside: left - Stairs reflected in the mirror resembling an industrial style window, add feeling of space and "loft climate"; right - "Joy of Gold" (painting on canvas 100x100 cm) - fairy tunes can be discovered even in suburban landscapes.

Sometimes gems can be found in unforeseen places, and the inspiration for creativity in the midst of the "dullness" of everyday life. This was the case of the apartment, which being a random offer from the periphery of the city, turned out to be a dream home. Similarly, inspirations for artists - the views that are worth to be "borrowed", preserved and maintained - can be found in the very unexpected places. "Borrowing views" is the theme of the works of Agnes. But after all - borrowings and references are qualities of each creativity, no matter if it is painting, photography, or interior design.

Pożyczanie widoków: wieloplanowość i kolor

Photos beside: upper left - multifarious milieu views are attractive during every season of the year; upper right: complementary landscapes behind... and in front of the window; lower left: colours of the living room harmonize with the season of the year; lower right: details in interiors are "borrowed" from different cultures.

Of course, Agnieszka's concern is not limited only to creating views, because usable and decorative objects are very important in our surroundings too. Ideally, objects would combine both these functions. Selected in terms of shape, texture, colour and semantic emanation, they blend into the interior bringing connotations, they almost "spice" the whole like a seasoning for a delicious course. The eternal dilemma of art: form or content, is no longer a torment, as one complements the other. Since objects are usually naturally (in the dual sense of this word) usable, they can be filled with different substance and add variety of meanings.

Pożyczanie widoków: 'Błękitne wyczulenie' - obraz na płótnie 100x120 cm

"Blue Sensitizeness" (picture on canvas 100x120 cm).
Large, moody picture can provide any room with an extraordinary climate.

If the details are "spices for interiors", paintings can redefine interior climate completely. Of course, each painting possesses texture and shape, but very often vivid colours become a critical aspect. Agnieszka has unusual sensitivity to blue colours - both on canvas and also in objects, which have to carry particular shades of blue. Probably visual artists distinguish many different shades of one colour, like the Eskimos see different tints of white. And while we - average people on the street - seem to be not capable of seeing it, yet these different shades affect us, creating climate nuances of interiors.

Pożyczanie widoków: 'Hanami 2011' - painting on canvas 120x120 cm

"Hanami 2011" - painting on canvas 120x120 cm.
Painting inspired by the Japanese flower celebration and kimono, expression of solidarity with Japan in the year of the great tragedies in this country.

Often the paintings influence stronger by shape and texture, rather than color. Or in other words - they have a significant overtone of meaning, giving specific connotations to rooms and objects located there. Oriental references in Polish art have roots deeper than it might at first glance appear, and remain inspirational for artists such as Agnes - combining the tradition of abstraction and art nouveau, graphics and painting, creative explorations with... decorative features of fine art.

Borrowing views - arrangements in interiors

Middle left: An intimate dinner with a panorama of the metropolis.
Middle: Intriguing ikebana composed of the favourite flowers of landlady.

Borrowing views - arrangements in interiors

Upper left photo: view from climatic bedroom; because it is quite the sunny side, cover blinds and "shutters" are required. Upper right photo: impression on a blooming garlic. Lower: bedroom windows were marked by Agnieszka out with texture borders inspired by old, stylish shutters, so we have here a sort of French-Dutch-African mix, that reveals the artist's fascinations. The walls are not only designed by Agnieszka, but also hand painted by herself. Yellow, blue and green-brownish motives refer to the view of nature outside of the window. The mirror, by associations to the clock, enhance the interior with the "time depth", and of course visually enlarges the room. A number of forged parts correspond with each other and they refer to... bicycle (wheels) - the artist's favourite conveyance.

Borrowing views: Magic Frame - painting on canvas 100x100 cm

"Magic Frame" - painting on canvas 100x100 cm.
Views "borrowed" by the artist are often kind of stills from imaginary movies.

Theme of a window in fine art is much more than just a decorative, utilitarian element considered in terms of aesthetics. Such a "window" is also an insight into a different world, not only enriching the room with a magical, complementary space, but also with suitable reflective depth of daily communion with art. As one can easily see, the views are borrowed by artists from other realities, and we are grateful to them, that they want to share their visions with us.

Borrowing views - paintings in interiors

Upper photo: "Silvery pirouettes" - painting on canvas 100x100 cm. Picture in specially selected frames is "maturing" in the studio of the artist, who can not part with it.
Lower left: Floral decoration in a hand-painted bucket with motifs "borrowed" from the Agnieszka's painting "Evening for a cover". Lower right: "Pre-spring Commas" (painting on canvas 100x120 cm) derived from the "Blade" series - one of the artist's quite recent paintings linked to former graphic inspirations.

Just like the right eye makeup highlights the beauty of a woman, well matched picture frame enhances the meaning of painting. The frame - emphasizing magic "window-effect" - is attracting viewer into unusual worlds. Under such views borrowed from magical realities, the diners with family or friends taste so much different. Themes coming from the paintings can "wander" on various objects of everyday use, giving them unique character and gaining also new meanings themselves.

Pożyczanie widoków: Płatki ciszy, Zlot oraz zimowy widok

Upper photo: winter view from the window of the artist's studio.
Lower left: "Patches of silence" (painting on canvas 100x100 cm) - obviously silence can sound with different colours. Lower right: "Flight" (painting on canvas 100x100 cm) - the birds in the winter are as much inspiring as during other seasons of the year.

Finally, the winter comes and covers with the white all meanings and reflections. People spend more time at home, paying more attention to surroundings indoors. One can then relax and enjoy the shades of white and appreciate frosted shapes, or return to the views borrowed from other seasons of the year, in order to - when necessary - "recharge internal batteries". Paintings not only enhance beauty of interiors and build vital, contemplative or reflective atmosphere, but they can also be very energizing.

Presented paintings enrich Polish and foreign collections of individuals or remain at artist's possession.
